Episode 72: Seeing is Believing is Seeing!
Friday May 12, 2017
Friday May 12, 2017
"Seeing is believing!"
"Believing is seeing!"
Which is it? Well, if you are a spritual person you probably grew up being taught that faith was not about "seeing" the evidence, but rather "believing" first. If you are more on the rational and human side you may have been taught not to "believe" something until you have actually "seen" proof first.
So, which side do you fall?
In Episode 72 of The Weekly YAP - Travis hosts another solocast where he shares his inspiration on this age old question. Perhaps, it might just be a combination of both!

Episode 69: Football and Love with Coach Masaki Matsumoto
Thursday Apr 20, 2017
Thursday Apr 20, 2017
What role does love play in sports? Better yet, how important is it for players to know that their parents love them? If there is no crying in baseball, can there be love letters in football? The answer is YES!
In Episode 69 of The Weekly YAP - Travis talks with high school football coach Masaki Matsumoto about leadership, culture...and love! Masaki was featured a few years ago on ESPN's sports journalism show E:60. The story tells about Masaki coaching at an inner city high school in Los Angeles and noticing the number of kids that came from tough backgrounds or single-parent homes. Over the summer, unknown to all of his players, Masaki asked all of the parents to write a letter to their son telling them how much they love him. Masaki then surprised all of the players one day at practice with the letters, and it had a profound impact on the team. Among other things - it led to their most successful season ever!

Episode 68: The SHOWTIME of Sales with Bernie Cronin
Thursday Apr 13, 2017
Thursday Apr 13, 2017
I've always been annoyed with salesman. We all have an image we think of when we think of sales, and seldom is it a positive one. There is this idea and fear that we are being manipulated into something we don't need, by someone who doesn't really care about us. So, when you meet someone who addresses sales from an honest and authentic standpoint it is refreshing.
In Episode 68 of The Weekly YAP - Travis has a sit down with long-time sales guru Bernie Cronin. Bernie has been in sales for decades. He is the author of two books - and has been speaking on the topic for years. But it wasn't that long ago that Bernie saw the value of the principles of acting when it comes to sales, but not in a slimy way. Since then, he has been partnering with actors and performers, and even learning some skills himself to be able to connect, understand, and meet the needs of customers even better.
Despite recording this interview outside with lots of surrounding noise - the charm of Bernie shines through. Enjoy!

What an awful feeling.
In Episode 66 of The Weekly YAP - Travis sits down with one woman who was also heartbroken when a good friend of hers dealt with this scenario. Instead of just offering sympathy, she offered an idea.
